Ecodefense! is an international, non-governmental and non-profit environmental group founded in 1990 in Kaliningrad, Russia. It stands on principles of deep ecology and biocentrism combined with social responsibility and justice. Ecodefense! works to inform and involve citizens to environmental and social activity through educational events, environmental campaigns and the spreading of environmental information. Ecodefense! is working to stop violations of human rights and it insists that the rights for a healthy environment and information are fundamental rights that must be available for every single person. The Guide Environmental Group is a Nature Conservation NGO established in 1995 for supporting long-term public initiatives directed to protect the biodiversity in Kaliningrad region of Russia as a part of the Baltic Sea Region. The main priority of the organisation is the development of environmental education. One important large-scale programme is the Nature Keepers Educational Network, which unites more than 50 schools and other educational institutions and attends more than 5 thousands schoolchildren every year, including quarterly practical seminars and trainings for teachers, seasonal poster conferences for teachers and schoolchildren in Kaliningrad, publication and distribution of teacher guides and quarterly Network reports, summer expeditions and the Nature Keepers School. The Museum of the World Ocean (MWO) of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography was founded on April 12th, 1990 in Kaliningrad, Russia. Fast developing and innovative, it is now a central maritime museum of Russia, well known in the country and abroad. It represents the history of exploration of the World Ocean and its nature from ancient times till nowadays.
